These screws go directly into solid clay bricks, standard bricks, and sand-lime bricks.
A standard 6 mm pilot hole allows each screw to go through a 6 mm thick steel bracket and into the brickwork 35 mm deep. During pull-out tests conducted on site, each screw held an average of 3.8 kN, much more than the 2.5 kN required by the project.
These screws are made of hardened carbon steel and have sharp threads.By comparing them to regular anchors, they save 35% on installation time and don't require wall anchors. Masonry Screws for Concrete
Sinsun masonry screws securely bond to standard concrete ranging from 2500 to 8000 psi. Four thousand screws (1/4-inch x 2-3/4-inch) were installed in C40 concrete posts in a Melbourne, Australia parking lot safety barrier project. Pre-drilled pilot holes were drilled 3/16 inches deeper than the embedment depth to accommodate dust.
Torque-controlled impact drills ensured consistent installation at 65 inch-pounds of torque, achieving an average pull-out resistance of 1,100 pounds per screw.The blue zinc coating on the screws prevents corrosion from vehicle exhaust and moisture. There was no rework necessary due to loosening connections based on customer feedback.
Self-tapping screws for breeze block
Sinsun self-tapping screws are designed for breeze block (aerated concrete block) and work well in masonry that is light and porous.3,500 screws (6.3mm x 90mm) were installed into 3.5 N/mm aerated blocks to hold down the timber sole plates for a garden room in Norwich, UK. A 5mm pilot hole was drilled all the way through the screw.
The screws were driven 60mm deep with T30 impact drivers. Load testing showed that the average pull-out resistance of 380 kg per screw exceeded the design load of 250 kg for the timber frame. The screws enable direct fixing without wall plugs, which saved about 20 hours of work on 40 units. After 18 months, there have been no reports of loosening or rust.

Q: Do I need to pre-drill for concrete screws?
A: Yes. Even though they're self-tapping, you must drill a pilot hole using a hammer drill and carbide bit. The screw then cuts threads into that hole.
