Heavy duty anchor, also called high-load mechanical anchor, heavy-duty fastening bolt and structural expansion anchor, is a strong hardware fastener for high-tension, high-shear and vibration-intensive installation scenarios. This series offers a stable locking force on solid concrete, hollow walls, drywall, and metal substrates – unlike standard light duty anchors. The equipment can handle large loads, structural fixtures and long-term static loads without becoming loose or failing. It incorporates all popular fastening fixing types including heavy duty drywall anchors, heavy duty toggle bolts and heavy duty concrete anchors to meet a variety of project requirements.
As a professional anchor manufacturer, Sinsun creates unique product advantages that distinguish our heavy duty anchors from ordinary market versions. We use thickened high strength steel plate with integrated stamping molding, precise thread rolling and full anti-rust surface treatment. Our heavy duty hollow wall anchors, butterfly anchors and molly bolts all feature thicker expansion structures, larger contact areas and increased resistance to stress. In order to ensure consistent performance in complex working conditions, we rigorously test every batch for tensile load, shear force and corrosion resistance. We also offer customized sizes and finishes to meet world industrial and construction standards.

Where You‘ll Actually Use These-No Theory, Just Site Work
Heavy duty anchor for concrete structural steel
Visit an industrial site. Those concrete floor slabs bolted to those steel columns? This is a wedge anchor at work, right?Drill into the base plate and insert an M10 or M12 expansion bolt. The pre-drilled hole is torqued down. The expansion clip digs into the concrete side wall. There is an instant transfer of load.It doesn't take time for epoxy to cure.Tighten and load in the same shift.Warehouse racking, factory press bases, and bridge railings are made from these materials.
Heavy duty toggle bolt for hollow walls
Drywall cavity is empty? No studs behind it? That’s a toggle-button moment. The spring-loaded wings fold flat as you go in and snap open on the other side. One properly sized heavy duty toggle bolt can hold over 100 lbs—enough for a flat-screen TV, a wall-mounted shelf full of tools, or a large mirror. Toggle bolts spread the load over the inner wall surface while plastic anchors strip out under vibration.
Heavy duty hollow wall anchor for blockwork
Concrete blocks are dense. Solid on the outside, empty on the inside. A standard expansion anchor can lose its grip, because there is nothing to expand against. That's where heavy-duty hollow wall anchors come in. They expand in the cavity, creating a mechanical lock that won't spin or pull out. We’ve seen these used for electrical panel mounting, pipe hangers and security camera brackets in commercial buildings.
Heavy duty eye bolt anchor for overhead lifting
Looking for a place to lift on a concrete roof? An eye bolt anchor will provide a threaded eye above the surface. But beware: Standard eye bolts are for vertical loads only. A swivel hoist ring is required for angular pulls. All our heavy duty eye bolt anchors are clearly labeled with load ratings so your rigging team knows exactly what it can handle.
| Substrate | Best Heavy Duty Anchor Type | Material Recommendation | Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solid concrete (cracked or uncracked) | Wedge anchor, drop‑in anchor | Carbon steel (zinc/HDG), stainless | ETA‑rated for cracked concrete available |
| Drywall / plasterboard (no stud) | Toggle bolt, molly bolt | Steel (zinc plated) | Toggle = highest load; molly = removable |
| Drywall with wood/metal stud | Self‑drilling drywall anchor | Steel | Screw directly into stud for maximum strength |
| Hollow concrete block | Heavy duty hollow wall anchor | Carbon steel, stainless | Expands inside cavity; standard wedge won‘t work |
| Solid brick / stone masonry | Sleeve anchor, wedge anchor | Zinc or stainless | Pre‑drill required; avoid over‑torquing |
| Steel base plate over concrete | Wedge anchor (through‑bolt) | Carbon steel 8.8 grade | Nut on top, washer under nut |
| Overhead lifting (concrete) | Eye bolt anchor (drop‑in type) | Stainless steel 304/316 | Vertical load only; angular pulls require swivel hoist ring |
| Marine / chemical plant | Heavy duty stainless anchor | A4 (316) stainless | Zero corrosion; pay the premium once |
What Our Customers Say -Straight from the Field
"Ten years in a beach house in Queensland - no rust in sight." "Not a single spot of rust." Ten years ago, we built a house on the beach in Queensland. We used Sinsun 316 stainless steel coil nails for every aspect, including framing, decking, and siding. Last month, I inspected it. There was no rust, no stain, and no popping heads. The place looks just like it did when we finished it. "The owner requested stainless steel, and Sinsun delivered."
“Our client wanted fall protection railings on a 20-year-old concrete floor. Standard wedge anchors keep spinning. The concrete had microcracks we didn’t see. We got Samsung's ETA-rated heavy duty anchors for cracked concrete. All of them held torque. Passed inspection the first time. That’s the kind of backup we need from a vendor.”
“Before Sinsun we bought heavy duty anchors from three different suppliers. Load ratings were optimistic. Drill hole tolerances were inconsistent. We will do all the M6 to M16 from one factory now zinc and stainless. Our installers know their stuff. Rework fell 70% last quarter. That’s real money saved.”
Frequently Asked Question
A: A wedge anchor has one expansion clip that grips concrete. A sleeve anchor has a full sleeve to expand its length. Wedge anchors have higher pull out strength. Sleeve anchors are better in brick and block where the material is not as dense.
A: Not all of them. Standard mechanical expansion anchors are not rated for cracked concrete—expansion can worsen the crack. You need an ETA‑approved anchor designed specifically for cracked concrete applications. We supply those. Ask us for the report.
A:A heavy duty toggle bolt in 1/4‑inch size holds up to 90 lbs—more than enough for most TVs. For extra safety, use two toggle bolts and ensure at least one catches a stud if possible.
A:Hole depth should be anchor length plus 5–10mm minimum. The expansion mechanism needs full embedment to work. Shallow holes = no grip.
We‘re a factory. Send us your drawing and quantity. We‘ll quote custom runs with reasonable MOQs. No middleman markups.
A: Indefinite if stored dry. Zinc plating can oxidize in humid conditions over years. Stainless steel lasts decades. Keep boxes sealed and off concrete floors.
A: For structural or safety‑critical applications—railings, machinery mounts, overhead fixtures—yes, absolutely. For shelving or light commercial work, a calibrated impact driver works if you‘re experienced. When in doubt, torque wrench.
A: Look at the load rating in kN. Light anchors: up to 3 kN. Medium: up to 20 kN. Heavy duty: 20–60 kN or higher. Also check for ETA approval, material grade (8.8 or higher), and whether the manufacturer provides a data sheet with pull‑out and shear values.
